Peer Recovery Support Specialist Eligibility

The Recovery Ready Workforce Initiative offers funding and guidance for individuals ready to turn their recovery journey into a meaningful career as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS).

To be eligible, applicants must:
Have personal experience in recovery from substance use (no minimum time requirement)
Commit to completing an approved PRSS training program through LASACT or a recognized provider
Be actively working in East Baton Rouge Parish

COMPENSATION

What's Covered

RRWI funding helps remove the financial barriers to becoming a certified PRSS credential.

Training costs may be paid directly to providers or reimbursed to participants.
Training Tuition: Up to 100% of LASACT-approved peer coursework fees
Examination Fee: Each participant will receive a stipend for the cost of 1 (one) Peer Recovery (PR) exam
