We operate the Louisiana Addiction Counselor Training (LACT). This program provides the 180 education hours that are specific to substance abuse education, a requirement for applying to be a Counselor in Training (CIT) through the ADRA.
LASACT sponsors an annual event with the purpose of providing multi-track continuing education opportunities by nationally and internationally known speakers as well as in-state experts.
LASACT's LACT Director is now an LSU Alumni graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Art, Cum Laude, Tau Sigma Delta. Nya will continue her studies at Arizona State University's online Master of Science program in Digital Audience Strategy in the Fall 2024.

LASACT's newest Executive Director is now an LSU Alumni graduating with a Bachelor of Art in Mass Communication, and minor in Business Admin. After a unanimous vote during the LASACT Board Meeting, Jordan Blacher was named the new LASACT Executive Director on May 16th, 2024.
Marolon has made significant contributions to LASACT during her 39+ year tenure, and currently serves as the Caucus Chair of the South-Southwest Region and Treasurer within IC&RC. We extend our deepest appreciation to Marolon for her dedication and service to LASACT.
