Membership Essentials

The Louisiana Association of Substance Abuse Counselors and Trainers is dedicated to helping addiction professionals in Louisiana develop their skills and expertise in their careers. Our mission here at LASACT is to promote and enhance addiction professionals & providers in areas of treatment, education, prevention, and advocacy.

Those persons currently fighting the disease of addiction in our country are under attack by a potent and deadly substance that many unfortunately do not know they are consuming until it is too late. As a profession founded in the core belief of combating such addictions, it is our responsibility to advocate for swift action and pursue new policy in the state of Louisiana to help protect not only our communities but potential clients as well. It is going to take all of us—together!

LASACT encourages strong regional representation to ensure that the unique needs of members across Louisiana are heard and addressed. Active participation within your district strengthens the collective voice of addiction professionals and helps guide statewide initiatives.

Advocacy on Behalf of Your District

Regional representatives serve as advocates for their districts, bringing local issues and insights to the forefront. They act as a bridge between the community and the larger organization, championing solutions that benefit members statewide.

Leadership and Board Participation

In addition to advocacy, regional representatives sit on the LASACT Board of Directors. In this leadership role, they help shape the organization’s direction and advance the profession of addiction counseling throughout the state.
