This course is focused on preparing you to meet the standards outlined in order to obtain Certified Clinical Supervisor credential in the state of Louisiana, for the IC&RC Clinical Supervisor credential, which focuses on counselor supervision, ethical responsibilities, and workforce development.

As the IC&RC Clinical Supervisor Candidate Guide states, this credential is targeted at "supervisors overseeing addiction counselors' professional development."

This course will thoroughly prepare you for the certification exam while providing practical skills you can immediately apply in your supervisory role.

All course materials are based on the current IC&RC Clinical Supervisor Reference List, including seminal works such as Bernard & Goodyear's "Fundamentals of Clinical Supervision," Corey, Haynes, & Moulton's "Clinical Supervision in the Helping Professions," and SAMHSA's TIP 52 on "Clinical Supervision and Professional Development of the Substance Abuse Counselor."

Course Pricing & Payment Options

The CCS educational training course is intentionally designed to be both accessible and rigorous, offering multiple enrollment routes to meet prospective students where they are—financially and professionally. Applicants may choose between an out-of-pocket payment option or a workforce grant opportunity, depending on eligibility.

Out-of-Pocket Enrollment

$350 | 30-Hour CCS Course + Certificate of Completion

Students who wish to enroll independently may do so by submitting an out-of-pocket payment at the time of application. This one-time fee of $350 grants full access to the 30-hour CCS curriculum, including all instructional materials and the official Certificate of Completion upon successfully finishing the course.

This option is ideal for students seeking immediate enrollment without third-party funding or eligibility constraints.

Workforce Grant Option (RRWI)

For Eligible East Baton Rouge Parish Employees

Prospective students who are currently employed and/or reside in East Baton Rouge Parish may qualify for tuition coverage through a workforce development grant provided by the Recovery Ready Workforce Initiative (RRWI). This funding option supports eligible participants by covering the cost of the CCS course in full.

⚠️Please note: RRWI-funded applicants must apply directly through the RRWI portal. Applications submitted on this site will not be considered for grant-based enrollment. Only 20 scholarships are available for 2026, limited availability.

Eligibility Requirements for a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS)

What are the minimum requirements for testing?    

The applicant must hold a current and valid reciprocal level LAC, CAC or RAC with the ADRA or another practice credential with the added ADC or AADC credential through LASACT CEB.        

Has successfully completed and able to show documentation of 10,000 hours of Addiction Counseling experience.        

4,000 hours of which must be in a supervisory position to individuals working in Addiction Counseling field. 200 hours of face-to-face clinical supervision is required of which up to 100 hours may be preformed electronically in real time.        

30 hours of education specific to the first five clinical supervision domains with a minimum of four hours in each domain.

The ADRA shall issue a CCS credential to each candidate who meets the following minimum standards:
Is at least 21 years of age
Possess and maintain a current LAC, CAC, RAC, or other LMHP credential with addiction specialty add-on
Is a legal resident of the United States
Is not in violation of any ethical standard subscribed to by the ADRA or any other board
Has not been a substance abuser or compulsive gambler for at least 2 years prior to the application date
Has not been convicted of a felony (see Felony Waiver Policy)
Document the completion of 90 clock hours of education:
a. 60 clock hours - Substance Use Disorders/Addiction (alcohol and other drugs) specific education
b. 30 clock hours – Specific to the supervision domains
Document the completion of 10,000 hours of work experience in substance use disorder treatment:
a. Inclusive of 4,000 hours of work experience in a supervisory position
Obtain a passing score on the IC&RC Clinical Supervision Exam

Once your tuition pathway has been selected, complete the CCS application in full.

Application Review & Acceptance

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants can expect a response within 24–48 business hours following submission.

Upon acceptance, students will receive:

1.) Official enrollment confirmation
2.) Instructions for accessing the course platform
3.) Moodle login credentials and orientation details

Course Access & Timeline

Once enrolled, students are granted access to the CCS course through Moodle. Students may progress at their own pace within the 90-day period

Course Completion & Certification

Upon completion of: The full 30-hour CCS curriculum, and The required course evaluation, students will be issued a 30-hour Certificate of Completion, which will be mailed to the address on file.

⚠️ Certificates will not be released until the course evaluation has been submitted in full.

Final Requirement – ADRA Submission

To finalize the CCS process, students must submit their Certificate of Completion to ADRA in accordance with their professional or licensing requirements.
