LASACT Annual Conference

Each year in mid-summer LASACT holds its annual Conference, rotating the site around the state to the cities with facilities large enough to accommodate it. The 2009 Conference will be held in Shreveport. Dates and site will be announced as soon as information is available.

Information on sponsorships, program ads, exhibits, registration, etc. is posted below.

Outstanding addiction professionals from all over the nation are featured as keynote speakers and workshop leaders at the Conference. Additionally, LASACT members and other qualified persons are invited to submit abstracts to the Conference Planning Committee for presentation of 1½ hour workshops.

Continuing education credits are available for Conference attendance and verified participation in the various activities and events. The continuing education credits that are offered meet the requirements for certification and recertification for LASACT and the Office for Addictive Disorders Regulatory Authority (ADRA).  Approval will be requested - and is usually received  - from the Social Work Board. Certificates of attendance with verified participation hours are presented to each attendee at the end of the Conference.

The Conference activities include:
Presentation of awards for:
Counselor of the Year for Substance Abuse, Prevention, and Gambling, CIT and PSIT of the Year, and Provider of the Year.

► Opportunity for networking and socializing with addiction professionals from all over the nation

► Annual membership business meeting; election of officers and board members for coming year

► Numerous exhibits from agencies providing addiction services

► Bookstore                               ► Door Prizes

Registered CIT’s may request financial assistance for payment of Conference fees from the
